Honda will debut the all-new Honda Insight Prototype at the North American International Auto Show next week. It will be the first chance consumers will have to see the latest model in Honda’s lineup of electrified vehicles. This new compact hybrid offers a spacious five-passenger cabin, refined driving performance and of course, remarkable fuel efficiency.
The Insight’s redesigned body architecture features sleek styling, a longer wheelbase and a wider stance. Its bold fascia, low profile LED headlights and taillights and Honda’s signature “flying wing” grille give this new model a fresh new look with an air of sophistication. It is powered by Honda’s third generation two-motor hybrid system, featuring a highly efficient 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine, a powerful electric propulsion motor and lithium-ion battery pack. Unlike other hybrids the new Insight houses batteries under the rear seats to avail a full-size trunk the flexibility of folding rear seats.
Premium features available for the new Insight include perforated leather seating, an 8-inch Display Audio capacitive touchscreen and a 7-inch digital LCD driver’s meter. The Insight is Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ ready with a Wi-Fi-enabled over-the-air system. This model will include the Honda Sensing™ suite of advanced safety technologies with Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™), Lane Departure Warning, Road Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow and new Traffic Sign Recognition.
